AL-HUTAIB
The peak that symbolises the great immortal light in erudition and culture!

From Cairo, the fount of knowledge, Al-Azhar, the flow of Fatemi learning and culture found it's way to Yemen. Zijibla became the first centre. Then through the highlands of Hamdan it reached Heraz and Al-Hutaib gained its international importance.

Here high above in the fortress lived Syedna Hatim (R.A.), the 3rd Dai-el-Mutlaq (557-596 H.). Scholars from Hind, Sind and Yemen gathered there to imbibe the Fatemi knowledge and culture.

Inside the fortress there is a Masjid and the Dai's residence. Down below some 500 feet Syedna Hatim (R.A.) selected a cave, where he gave learned discourses. It serves as a strategic point guarding the entire eastern region of Heraz Hills.
His Holiness, Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb (T.U.S.) has visited Yemen several times. It was by his efforts that at the height of over 7,000 feet the grand Masjid and Mausoleum of Syedna Hatim was built. The construction was an extremely difficult undertaking in an area where no communications existed.

Al-Hutaib is easily accessible by road now, thanks to the efforts of His Holiness. This route plays a key role in the all round progress and well-being of those living in the rich and fertile land of Heraz.

Al-Hutaib represents the grandeur of Yemen in the Past and, in a sense, it's renaissance at Present!
